Teacher Applicants undergo Demo-Interview Print

Teacher applicants of DepEd, Division of Silay City showed their teaching and communicative competence as they undergo demonstration teaching from February 9 to 12 at Silay South Elem. School, Gaston Elem. School and for the secondary, Dona Montserrat Lopez Mem.High School.   As stipulated in DepEd Order No. 14, s.2015, demonstration teaching receives 20 points and interview 10 points as part of the criteria for evaluation of the documents.

In support of the Ten-Point Basic Education Agenda of the Aquino Administration and the institutionalization of the “Every Child a Reader” Program (ECARP), the Department of Education (DepED) is initiating programs that would:

a. promote reading and literacy among the pupils and students;

b. motivate our youth to learn from the lives and works of eminent Filipinos;

c. uphold one’s own heritage and values; and

d. make reading a shared physical experience, specifically among the youth, thereby increasing its relevance amidst the growing reliance on the internet and inclination to on-line activities.

              In cognizant with DepEd Order No.14, series of 2014, known as the “Hiring Guidelines for Teacher I Positions for School Year 2015- 2016, DepEd, Division of Silay City conducted the Division-Orientation for Teacher I Applicants and English Proficiency Testing last February 7, 2015 at Silay South Learning Resource Center.

  In consonance with DepEd Order No. 62, series of 2011 (Adopting the National Indigenous Peoples (IP) Education Policy Framework), DepEdSilay City, conducted a Two (2) Day Division Advocacy, Partnership Building and Training of Teachers, School Heads/ Administrators and School IPED Coordinators on Indigenous Peoples Education (IPED) Implementation headed by the Schools Division Superintendent, Dr.Neri Anne M. Alibuyog and Asst. Schools Division Superintendent Marsette D. Sabbaluca last January 8-9, 2014 at Natures Village, Talisay City.

              The Department of Education set January 24 to February 27, 2015 as the period for early registration for School Year 2015-2016 in all public elementary and secondary schools to achieve universal participation and completion.
